Police in Elk Grove have arrested 25-year-old Thao Tran in connection with last weekend’s deadly shooting at Z Town Asian Gastro Bar, an incident that left one man dead and several others injured.
According to the Elk Grove Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday at the popular nightlife spot located on Calvine Road, just east of Elk Grove-Florin Road. When they arrived, officers found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds inside the restaurant.
One victim — identified as 18-year-old Kim Kha Huynh of Chino Hills — was pronounced dead at the scene. Another victim was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe the shooting began as a verbal altercation between two groups inside the bar that quickly escalated. Police identified 43-year-old Roderick Randall of Sacramento as the suspected gunman. Randall allegedly opened fire before fleeing the scene.
On Tuesday, detectives arrested Thao Tran, described by police as Randall’s girlfriend, on suspicion of being an accessory to the crime. Tran was booked into the Sacramento County Jail and is being held without bail.
As of Thursday, Randall remained at large. Police warned that he is armed and dangerous and urged the public not to approach him.
“We continue to pursue every lead to bring the primary suspect into custody,” Elk Grove Police said in a statement. “We thank the community for its assistance and encourage anyone with information to come forward.”

Một nạn nhân, được xác định là Kim Kha Huynh, 18 tuổi, cư ngụ tại Chino Hills, đã tử vong tại hiện trường. Một nạn nhân khác bị thương nặng và được đưa vào bệnh viện trong tình trạng nguy kịch.
