A significant deployment of over 100 federal immigration agents is underway in the San Francisco Bay Area, with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other agencies set to operate out of the Coast Guard Base Alameda, according to multiple reports.

Federal officials confirmed that the agents are arriving within the next 24–48 hours, marking one of the largest immigration enforcement surges in recent years. The Coast Guard confirmed that the Alameda base will serve as a “place of operations” for CBP and related agencies.

The move is believed to be part of the Trump administration’s renewed push to tighten immigration enforcement, particularly in “sanctuary” jurisdictions such as San Francisco and Alameda County.

San Francisco Mayor’s Office and Alameda County officials expressed concern that this operation might undermine community trust and create panic among immigrant residents.

Community organizations across the Bay Area are now mobilizing to provide legal aid, “Know Your Rights” workshops, and helplines for affected families.

While federal officials described the operation as a “standard enforcement effort,” local leaders insist it’s politically motivated and unnecessary.
