Drivers across the United States are seeing welcome relief at the pump as gasoline prices fall below $3 per gallon in 37 states. The national median price has dropped to $2.79 per gallon, with more than 20 states averaging under $2.75 and several now dipping below $2.50.

Experts say the decline is driven by lower crude-oil costs, reduced demand, and cheaper winter gasoline blends.

However, California remains the most expensive gasoline market in the nation. The statewide average sits around $4.51 per gallon, far higher than the national average. Analysts attribute this to higher state taxes, environmental regulations, and regional supply limitations.

While much of the country enjoys significant savings, California drivers continue to face some of the highest fuel costs in the U.S.
