The Republican National Committee (RNC) released a statement criticizing political commentator Hasan Piker following the circulation of video clips in which he used offensive language toward a Vietnamese refugee sharing her experiences under a communist regime.
According to the RNC, the remarks were directed at a Vietnamese refugee who spoke about suffering under communism. The organization described the language used in the video as “deeply disrespectful” toward Southeast Asian refugee communities.
The statement also criticized Democratic leaders, including Gavin Newsom, questioning whether they would respond to or condemn Piker’s comments.
The RNC further alleged a pattern of controversial statements made by Piker in the past, though these claims have not been independently verified within the context of this release.
As of now, Hasan Piker has not issued a new public response regarding the resurfaced clips.
The incident has sparked renewed discussion within Vietnamese American communities, particularly among those with refugee backgrounds, about respect, historical memory, and political discourse in the United States.

Ủy ban Quốc gia Đảng Cộng Hòa (RNC) vừa đưa ra thông cáo chỉ trích nhà bình luận chính trị Hasan Piker sau khi xuất hiện các đoạn video ghi lại việc ông sử dụng ngôn từ xúc phạm đối với một người tị nạn Việt Nam khi bà chia sẻ về trải nghiệm dưới chế độ cộng sản.
Theo RNC, những phát ngôn này được đưa ra nhằm vào một người tị nạn Việt Nam từng trải qua nhiều đau khổ sau năm 1975. Tổ chức này cho rằng các lời lẽ trong đoạn video là “thiếu tôn trọng nghiêm trọng” đối với cộng đồng người Đông Nam Á tị nạn.
Thông cáo cũng đặt câu hỏi liệu các lãnh đạo Đảng Dân Chủ, bao gồm Thống đốc California Gavin Newsom, có lên tiếng hoặc phản đối những phát ngôn này hay không.
Ngoài ra, RNC cũng đề cập đến một số phát biểu gây tranh cãi trước đây của Hasan Piker, tuy nhiên những thông tin này hiện chưa được xác minh độc lập trong khuôn khổ thông cáo.
