SAN JOSÉ, Calif. — A math teacher at Piedmont Hills High School in San José has been named one of California’s top educators for 2026. Chrizia Dela Rosa, who teaches in the East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD), was selected by the state’s Superintendent of Public Instruction for the honor.

With 14 years in education — seven of those at ESUHSD — Dela Rosa previously earned the “Teacher of the Year” title within the county. Her colleagues highlight her strong classroom engagement and capacity to motivate students.
Dr. David Toston, Santa Clara County’s Superintendent of Schools, commented: “She is an exceptional educator who exemplifies how to engage students in learning. Santa Clara County is proud of you and all you have done.”

This recognition not only celebrates Dela Rosa’s achievements but also shines a spotlight on the many dedicated educators in the South Bay region who work each day to inspire and prepare the next generation.
