The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office has launched a new public safety initiative called “Wanted Wednesday,” designed to help track down convicted sexual offenders who have failed to comply with Megan’s Law registration requirements or are actively evading law enforcement supervision.

Each Wednesday, the Sheriff’s Office will publish the name, photo, and details of a wanted offender on its official website and social media platforms. The campaign aims to enlist the community’s help in locating these individuals and bringing them back into legal compliance.

Sex offenders are required by law to register their residence information on a regular basis. Those who move without reporting their new address or deliberately avoid registration are considered in violation of the law and pose potential risks to public safety. Authorities say some individuals have intentionally relocated without notifying law enforcement, while others have fully absconded from supervision.

Through the “Wanted Wednesday” campaign, the Sheriff’s Office hopes residents will help identify these offenders by reporting sightings or relevant information. Anyone with information is urged to contact 408-808-4500 or submit an anonymous tip through the county’s tip line.

Officials emphasize that community participation plays a crucial role in apprehending non-compliant offenders and maintaining public safety.
