Another major win for the San José Police Department’s AIR3 unit, which successfully helped officers locate and arrest a violent suspect responsible for physically abusing two young children in separate incidents.
On November 16, SJPD officers responded to a welfare check in South San José after receiving a report of severe child abuse that had occurred days earlier. During the investigation, officers learned that the adult male suspect had strangled a toddler using a plastic bag and physically assaulted a young boy.
At the time of the welfare check, the suspect had already fled and remained outstanding.
The following day, with assistance from the SJPD Real Time Intelligence Center, investigators used Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology to search for the suspect’s vehicle. Shortly after, the AIR3 police helicopter located the suspect in North San José, leading officers directly to his location.
SJPD officers then conducted a high-risk vehicle stop, safely detained the suspect, and took him into custody without further incident. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges related to child abuse and child neglect.
Authorities say the two children involved are now safe.
“We are grateful that our eyes in the sky helped locate this violent suspect who thought it was acceptable to harm two young children,” the department shared. “Thanks to the teamwork between AIR3 and our intelligence center, this individual is now behind bars.”

Một lần nữa, đơn vị trực thăng AIR3 của Sở Cảnh sát San José (SJPD) đã lập công lớn khi hỗ trợ lực lượng cảnh sát truy tìm và bắt giữ một nghi phạm cực kỳ bạo lực đã hành hung hai trẻ em.
