On Tuesday evening, patrol officers from the Foothill Division of the San Jose Police Department located a vehicle connected to an armed robbery that occurred earlier in the day.

When officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect immediately fled at a high rate of speed, running red lights, driving in the wrong direction, and cutting across sidewalks and residential front yards. Due to the extreme danger posed to the public, officers made the decision not to pursue.

Unbeknownst to the suspect, the department’s AIR3 helicopter was already overhead, providing real-time aerial support. With eyes in the sky, officers were able to track the suspect after he abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

Patrol officers quickly located and arrested the adult male suspect without further incident. No injuries were reported.

Police praised the coordinated efforts between patrol units and AIR3, emphasizing that aerial support played a critical role in safely removing a dangerous suspect from San Jose streets.

Tối hôm qua, các cảnh sát tuần tra thuộc khu vực Foothill của Sở Cảnh sát San Jose đã phát hiện một chiếc xe có liên quan đến vụ cướp có vũ trang xảy ra trước đó trong ngày.

Khi cảnh sát ra hiệu dừng xe, nghi can lập tức bỏ chạy với tốc độ cao, vượt đèn đỏ, chạy ngược chiều, leo lên vỉa hè và lao qua các khu sân trước nhà dân. Nhận thấy hành vi quá nguy hiểm, đe dọa an toàn công cộng, cảnh sát đã quyết định không truy đuổi trên mặt đất.
